1577 Productions is a multimedia production company specializing in high quality documentaries and commercials for Fortune 100 companies. Our work humanizes subjects and inspires audiences to take action on topics that matter. In 2015, our film Course of Food won Best Oklahoma Short Film in the deadCenter Film Festival. It also screened at festivals in NYC, Chicago, and Hot Springs. In 2017, our film Butch: Legend of Langston also won Best Oklahoma Short Film in the deadCenter Film Festival and is currently screening at festivals across the nation. Current projects include a feature length documentary on the life and career of legendary college basketball coach Eddie Sutton, and a short documentary on water sustainability.
Finding its namesake in the year explorer Sir Francis Drake left on his great life adventure, 1577 embodies Drake’s words to not be content “if our dreams come true because we have dreamed too little.”
David Tester Founder & President
Since founding 1577 Productions, David has won several awards for commercial and documentary films. His work with universities and over 40 nonprofits showcase his passion for creative storytelling. FAA 333 certified to fly Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, David regularly incorporates cinematic aerial video into his productions, lending a unique perspective to his films. With a Bachelor of Business Administration Finance degree, David is uniquely equipped to manage the financial and creative aspects of any project. David lives in Oklahoma City with his wife, K.K., and his sons Judah and Maximus.
Christopher Hunt Senior Creative Director
An award winning Native American (Cherokee) director and editor specializing in documentary and multimedia production, Christopher has created original documentaries and short films with a unique narrative from start to finish. Tackling issues such as homelessness, sustainable energy, and local art culture, Christopher’s films offer an entertaining look at what can sometimes be complex issues. His work has appeared on PBS, VEVO, various local and regional networks, as well as the deadCENTER Film Festival, the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival, and the NYC Food Film Festival. Christopher lives in Oklahoma City with his wife Jessica, and sons Sullivan and Sawyer.
